What is Vashon Mobile Integrated Health?

The Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program is funded and operated by Vashon Island Fire and Rescue (VIFR), in partnership with King County Emergency Medical Services. MIH strives to create a healthier life, home, and community for the residents of Vashon Island. The MIH team is tightly woven into the community and can assist you with navigating those tough-to-find resources and developing a care plan. 

  • Our team is out in the field weekly delivering high-quality health care, coordinating resouces, developing care plans, and navigating individuals to the right level of care.
  • Our team conducts proactive outreach visits and care management visits to our community.
  • Our team works to develop a personalized care plan, execute care plans, and connect individuals to ongoing support within the community.
  • Your tax dollars pay for this service. There are no additional fees for our MIH in-home care program.

The MIH team primarily accepts referrals from VIFR Firefighter/EMTs after 911 calls. After a patient is referred, the MIH team will meet them to develop a care plan and find the proper resources for the patient. This service is provided at no cost to patients and is funded by the Fire District Levy with support from the King County EMS levy.
